Steady Sports Coaching, based in Derby, is a family-run coaching business led by brother-sister duo Alex Steadman and Lauren Nicholls. Offering expert coaching in both football and netball, Steady Sports provides tailored sessions for all ages and abilities, from one-on-one training to small group sessions, fitness programs, and injury rehabilitation. Alex, a seasoned semi-professional footballer, leads Steady Sports Football, while Lauren, an experienced netball coach and player, heads up Steady Sports Netball. Together, they are committed to helping athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game in a fun and professional environment.
Meet Alex Steadman

Steady Sports Football, based in Derby, is led by Alex Steadman, a highly experienced semi-professional footballer with 17 years in the game. Alex provides expert coaching tailored to all ages and abilities, offering one-to-one training, small group sessions, football fitness, speed, agility, quickness (SAQ) training, and injury rehabilitation. Holding a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science, he is a Level 2 football coach working towards his UEFA B qualification and is both DBS checked and first aid certified. As the First Team Manager at Belper United, Alex is passionate about helping players enhance their technical skills, improve their fitness, and build confidence to take their game to the next level.
Meet Lauren Nicholls
Superleague champion, coach & mentor growing netball.
Steady Sports Netball is led by Lauren Nicholls, a highly experienced netball player and coach with an impressive career at the top level of the sport. A three-time Superleague champion with over 100 appearances for Loughborough Lightning and Wasps, Lauren has represented Great Britain at the World University Championships and played a key role in developing netball talent across the country. Ex Assistant Coach at Loughborough Lightning and now Head Coach for NXT Gen at Nottingham Forest Netball, she is passionate about growing the game at all levels. Through Steady Sports Netball, Lauren is dedicated to helping athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the sport in a supportive and professional environment.
